Yin is the black side with the white dot on it and yang is the white side with the black dot on it. The curves and circles of the Yin-Yang symbol imply a kaleidoscope-like movement. This implied movement represents the ways in which Yin and Yang are mutually-arising, interdependent, and continuously transforming, one into the other. One could not exist without the other, for each contains the essence of the other. The love message engraved on the back of the pendant: "There is always somebody who loves you, ALWAYS".

I purchased this as a stocking stuffer for my 6 year old son who loves studying Kung Fu and Po (from the "Kung Fu Panda" movies). He absolutely loves it, especially the message on the back and is always sad when he has to take it off. The pendant is solid and has a nice weight to it. The chain is a military "dog-tag" style chain. I gave this 4 stars because the design is imprinted on the pendant, not engraved or embossed, so I'm not sure how it will stand up over time.
